eLearning is an abbreviation for electronic learning, this encompasses a broad range of activities that involve the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) to support and enhance learning.
eLearning Vision
- To utilise current technology and prepare learners for future technology.
- To promote best teaching practice and to ensure that technology is used to improve learning, engagement, efficiency and achievement.
- To challenge staff and students to reach their digital potential
Yarrawonga College P-12 (Secondary Campus) is committed to ensuring that students are exposed to a range of eLearning technologies. The appointment of an eLearning leader in 2008 and the development of an eLearning group has enabled the school to take a more strategic approach to the use of future technologies. The College has developed an eLearning vision (as shown above) and this forms part of the College strategic plan to guide the direction of our educational provision into the future.
We have a range of Information Technology equipment (ICT):

All staff have individualised eLearning plans which include personalised goals that they work towards throughout each year. Staff regularly participate in a range of eLearning professional learning sessions and workshops to ensure they are up to date with the latest programs.
You may have heard your child discussing the following eLearning tools:
Wikispaces
An online environment where students can access information at anytime, students can upload work and participate in discussion boards.
Qwizdom
An interactive questioning tool where students are given an individual remote that allows them to answer questions posed by the teacher.
Podcasting
A variety of programs can be used to create a podcast. Garageband and Moviemaker are two programs that are used at YSC. These programs allow students to add video footage, music, photos and narration to create a presentation.
The development and implementation of the Ultranet will further support our students in reaching their digital potential. The Ultranet will become an integral part of students learning.
