Yarrawonga College P-12 (Secondary Campus) offers a wide-ranging curriculum to students in Years 7-8 with units from English, Mathematics, Science, SOSE, Languages other than English (LOTE), Health and Physical Education, Arts and Technology.
Students in Years 7 and 8 are working towards VELS level 5. The aim of programs offered at this stage is to allow students to develop both their knowledge and learning skills. There is an increased emphasis on independent learning to ensure a smooth transition into future years of schooling.
In Year 7, students study the core subjects of English, Mathematics, Science, SOSE (History & Geography), Languages other than English (LOTE) and Health and PE . In each semester students also complete 4 Arts and Technology subjects so that by the end of Year 7 all students have experienced: Home Economics, Music, Information Technology, Wood Work, Metal Work, Visual Arts, Textiles and Drama.
In Year 8 students study the core subjects of English, Mathematics, Science, SOSE (History & Geography), Languages other than English (LOTE) Sport Education and Health and PE . Students also start to choose subjects mainly from the Arts and Technology areas, including Home Economics, Textiles, Art, Visual Design, Wood Work, Metal Work, Music, Information Technology and Drama. Citizenship is also offered as a SOSE unit in Year 8.
