Benefits for your children
Setting your kids on the road to financial success

Ensuring your children learn sound money management skills and the importance of saving when they are young will help set them on the road to financial success. These skills are crucial for achieving financial independence and improving their opportunities and standard of living for the future.

The program benefits young people in a number of ways:

  • It helps develop stronger financial skills, giving students more knowledge, independence and confidence when it comes to decisions about money. Research has shown that customers who were part of School Banking are more financially savvy as adults.
  • Every student under 10 years old who opens a Youthsaver account automatically becomes a member of the Dollarmites club, a fun club offering tips, activities and games to promote saving.
  • There are no account keeping or transaction fees, and students receive bonus interest if they make at least one deposit and no withdrawals in a calendar month.
  • If your child’s school is not currently part of the School Banking program, please speak to the School Principal about the possibility of enrolling.

For more information about the School Banking program contact your School Principal.

Our School Banking program has been reinvigorated so it’s now even more exciting for your child. We’ve introduced a great Rewards Program that makes it even more fun for your child to participate in the School Banking program – and encourages them to save even more.

Every time your child makes a deposit they receive a Dollarmites token and a sticker to place next to their name on a wall chart so they can track their progress. The tokens can then be redeemed for a range of great gifts.

As each child reaches a certain number of deposits they will receive a certificate of achievement: Bronze for 10 deposits, Silver for 20 deposits and Gold for 30 deposits. There’s also a class certificate presented to the class with the most deposits at the end of each term.

Please note that participation in the School Banking Rewards Program is not mandatory. As a parent, if you are keen for your child to be involved in the Rewards Program please speak with your School Principal or School Banking Co-ordinator.
