Aim
The aim of these groups is to bring students from Year 8 and 9 together in small single gender groups, with a focus on self-esteem, social skills and acceptance. This program is facilitated by the School Nurse.
Organisation
Groups are selected by the Year Level Coordinator (YLC) with students consisting from a range of form groups. The Boys Group is held throughout Year 8, whilst the Girls Group is held throughout Year 9. All Year 8 boys and Year 9 girls will take part in a group at some time during the year.
The program runs for six sessions, over a six week period, on a rotating basis to ensure that students do not miss the same subject each week. The groups focus on having fun while participating in activities and discussions on a broad range of topics. These groups promote interaction and acceptance amongst peers across the year level.
